Rabbi Gavriel Goldfeder
Rabbi Gavriel Goldfeder joins us directly from Israel, and he brings with him a taste of the Holy Land. After 6 years at the Bat Ayin yeshiva, Rabbi Gavriel has developed a unique voice in Torah – a message that is both old and new. With one foot in the depths of tradition and another in the exciting and constantly changing modern world, the Rabbi brings a message of honesty with one’s self, and of enriching that sense of self through the timeless wisdom of the Torah. His message is one of balance between self and community.
He and his wife, Ketriellah, are hoping to build a community like the one they experienced in Israel – a community infused with Torah values, passion for learning and prayer, consideration of one another, and action, as well as deep celebration of the joys of life.
Availability
The Rabbi has negotiable office hours every week. He would love to spend time with anyone in the community, catch up, talk about what’s happening, etc. Please call or write him to make an appointment.

Enter the Center (5767 Vayeitzei)
Ya’akov, as we know, represents the Divine attribute known as tiferet. A misunderstanding of tiferet will lead us to a misunderstanding of Ya’akov’s life. Tiferet is usually understood as “the balance between chesed and Gevurah”. This is only partially true – tiferet is not merely the holding of two options and deciding which one is best, it is having a center beyond the two from which a person can choose the best course of action – or inaction. In the words of the famous Kabalistic piece entitled “Ptach Eliyahu” (introduction to Tikkunei Zohar), Ya’akov and his contribution to the Spiritual Body is called “amudah d’emtza’ita” – the middle column. His is the capacity to have a middle, a center, from which to act.
