Over the past two years, two members of the Boulder Aish Kodesh community have engaged in tikkun olam on an international level of service, mentorship and volunteer group leadership. As group leaders for American Jewish World Service's Volunteer Summer program, Udi Lazimy (2006)and Kalman Sweetwine (2007) have led groups of Jewish college student volunteers from around the world to indigenous villages in the developing world to engage in cultural exchange and sustainable developement work.

Udi served as a leader of a group in a small indigenous Mayan refugee village in central Guatemala, overseeing the group's work on a cooperative project with the community to rebuild the rainwater drainage infrustructure of the village, and also to facilitate educational opportunities for the volunteers.

Kalman is currently leading a group of volunteers in Uganda for AJWS.
