Letter from Rabbi Mordechai Rackover

Dear Friends,
It is with tremendous excitement that I write to you in anticipation of our time at Aish Kodesh. Nechama Lea and I have known the Goldfeders for years and we’ve heard so much about the community. We expect that this immersive experience will be one of both learning and fun for the community, our children, and us. In addition to the times when I’ll be teaching it is my intention to be available for private learning, conversation, and psak whenever necessary. My mobile phone and email address are listed above. For setting up chavruta or appointments please send me an email so I can reference my calendar. For any other needs I’d be happy to hear from you directly on the phone. I will be teaching a number of classes, mini-courses as it were. Sunday mornings after shaharit will have a focus on the laws pertaining to the Three Weeks and Tisha B’Av. Monday nights at 8PM we will continue Rabbi Goldfeder’s focus on Hassidism. We’ll move away from Breslov for four weeks and look into some other Masters and their thought. Thursday evenings, also at 8PM, will be dedicated to a series on Jerusalem in liturgy, rabbinic literature, and Jewish Thought. The Friday mid-day class will alternate between issues in the Parasha and business issues relevant to the Three Weeks. Shabbat will be special and we are very much looking to sharing it with the whole community. I will do my best to fill the times Rabbi Goldfeder normally sets aside for learning with material that is engaging and different from what you may have heard before. On some Shabbatot I’d like to host Third Meal where we can learn together and you can help me learn as I review materials that I am collating into a book on Moshe. We will be arriving on the 17th of Tammuz, June 29th and staying until July 29th. If you have any topics or interests that you’d like me to address either in a Shabbat class or in a havruta please feel free to contact me even before I arrive so that I can prepare any materials. Thanks for your generosity in welcoming us (as well as that of Brown RISD Hillel and Brown
University for letting me work from two timezones away) I can’t wait!

Blessing us all with a Shabbat Shalom and a meaningful fast,

Sincerely yours,

RABBI MORDECHAI
